Boston's best: Gay parties
Foxy
For the past year Boston's own Foxy Action Group has been electrifying the nightscape with wild and libidinous old-school disco parties that bring the sounds—and the sexy—of the ’70s and ’80s writhing into the present. The frequently under-clothed DJ team has devoted itself to digging up forgotten dance masterpieces for your grinding pleasure. So put down the razor, leave your shirt at home and let the FOXY boys butter your biscuit with hot disco love. $3, 21+, 10pm—2am, 1st Sunday of the month; Zuzu, 474 Massachusetts Ave, Central Square, Cambridge (617-864-3278, zuzubar.com)
Fur and Gold
There are plenty of gay dudes whose musical interests stretch beyond the latest pop diva remix, but mainstream gay clubs rarely acknowledge their existence. Enter DJ Brent Covington, who took the bull by the horns and helped establish Fur and Gold, a monthly rager that plays indie rock, new wave, electro and, yes, the occasional pop diva vocal track. Lo and behold, the boys came a-running—and now the second Friday of the month marks a (fur and) golden opportunity to go out on the town without dumbing down. Free, 21+, 10pm–2am, second Friday of the month; Alley Bar, 275 Washington St, Downtown, Boston (617-263-1449, thealleybar.com)
Group hug
Supersize your Sunday fun-day with a monthly tea party. Gays with bearish tendencies, their admirers, and those who simply hate drinking alone, pile into the intimate space to enjoy a lovely afternoon. Nestle into the lounge-y platform couches, watch video homages to husky manhood and canoodle with your cohorts to a soundtrack of vintage grooves spun by resident DJs Nathanael Bluhm, Joseph Colbourne and the enigmatic BRDR. Free, 21+, 6pm–10pm, last Sunday of the month; Enormous Room, 569 Massachusetts Ave, Central Square, Cambridge (617-491-5550, enormous.tv)
La Boum
The luscious ladies of La Boum sharpened their teeth with the legendary Gross Anatomy parties before biting into Friday nights at the Milky Way. Liberated, freewheeling and so enthusiastic that it's practically wholesome, this queer dance fantasia—with its nonstop soundtrack of pop and alternative anthems from yesterday and today—is pure serotonin for the soul. Free, 21+, 10pm–1am, 1st Friday of the month; Bella Luna Restaurant & Milky Way Lounge, 284 Armory St, Jamaica Plain (617-524-6060, milkywayjp.com)
Perestroika
Katya Zomolodchikova is a busy lady. When not performing in sold-out Burger King parking lots throughout the country, this vaguely Eastern European import organizes talent showcases for some of the most cutting-edge showgirls in town. Blurring the line between drag and performance art, these gorgeous gals will claw their way into your heart—even if they have to take out half the audience in the process. Bring plenty of dollars to “tip” the performers and please remember: It isn't extortion…when it's art. $7, 21+, 10:30pm-midnight, 1st Monday of the month; Jacques Cabaret, 79 Broadway, Theater District, Boston (617-426-8902, jacques-cabaret.com)

Sorry ladies! In the future, please direct editorial concerns to editorial@timeoutboston.com and we can get things fixed up much faster. Thanks for the heads up!
